It does not look like it at first glance, but the design is based on the principals of a Balinese pavilion, which is ideal for the sub-tropical climate of the North coast. Large expanses of double glazed sliding doors to the east and west of the living area, blurs the border between the inside and outside. Four wings accommodate four distinct zones: the main bedroom suite, the children’s suite, the guest suite & the staff quarters.

The views towards the Indian Ocean & the outside entertainment area are ‘opened up’, by placing the wings at an angle to the main living area wing. The deck, swimming pool & braai (BBQ) areas to the west is shaded from the harsh African sun by a canopy, and ‘lives’ out towards a lush tropical garden at the back of the house, away from prying public eyes.
