DRAKEN

Our submission focuses on the storytelling of the diverse natural landscapes Africa hosts from the shifting dunes in the Sahara to the beautiful Victoria falls in Zambia/Zimbabwe. These landscapes have changed over hundreds of years building more layers as time has passed creating their natural features they are known for today. These beautiful landscapes we call home have become the inspiration to the AXOR designs to elevate their characteristics and translate them into the homes of people around the world through the possibility of AXOR.

The Drakensburg forms part of Africa's major Topographical feature kown as the "Great Escarpment" and also called the “uKhahlamba” which is the valley of up-pointed spears. The design focuses on the rift valleys to create a pattern that symbolises the depth of the earth layers that once was formed by waters 10-20 million years ago. The earth's natural element is represented in this design with the focus on earth.

SAHARA

The Sahara desert covers the majority of Northern Africa ad is the world's largest hot desert. The design focuses on replicating the desert's natural sand dune features that is created by rare rainfall and winds. The earth's natural element is represented in this design with the focus on fire.

VICTORIA

For hundreds of years humans have lived around the spectacular Victoria falls. It is not only knows for being the largest waterfall, but as one of the great wonders of the world. The concept of the design was to use the footprint of the Victoria falls and the Zambezi river to symbolise the importance it has on connecting six countries within Africa. The earth's natural element is represented in this design with the focus on water.
